Boutique bliss
I had a delightful stay in this hotel, and I must say, the room was wonderfully generous in size, complete with a separate bath and bar area. The minibar was thoughtfully arranged, featuring both half and full-sized bottles, and the Art Deco-style bath environment added a charming touch of elegance. The bed was impressively large and comfortable, with linen that felt luxurious, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. What made this accommodation special was its individuality. It’s set in a townhouse on Denmark Street, rich in musical history, with a private entrance at the front. While this meant it wasn’t directly part of the main hotel, it only added to the experience, making it feel exclusive and unique. The design throughout was quirky, full of character, and generally a lot of fun, adding a playful twist to the overall stay. A truly enjoyable experience!
Despite the hotel’s charm, there were a few puzzling aspects of my stay. On returning from my first day out, I found the room completely unmade, which was quite unexpected. When I called the reception desk, the initial response was that I must have left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on, which wasn’t the case. I was then informed that I needed to contact the front desk each morning if I wanted the room serviced. This felt very unusual for what is marketed as a luxury five-star boutique hotel. Another oddity was the 5% service charge added to the bill for staff gratuities. While I fully support rewarding good service, I believe this should be a voluntary gesture. When I questioned it, the response was that the staff provide exceptional service and should be compensated accordingly. I agreed but noted that this should be reflected in their salaries rather than as an added charge on the bill. I only discovered this service charge after I had already returned home and received my bill via email. I had to email the hotel to question it, and that is when I received their explanation. P.S. If you’re looking for a quiet place to relax, this might not be the spot for you. You’re in the heart of London’s West End, surrounded by nightlife, traffic, and all the vibrancy that makes the city center exciting. If it’s peace and quiet you’re after, the Cotswolds would be a better fit!

Great location in central London. Beautiful room.
Location. Nice room. Not big but comfortable.
The marketing is great but when you walk in you find out there is no lobby. The amazing photos on the website and in booking are taken in a bar across the street.
